Hi. My name is Gail Winship. I am a 52 year old wife, mother, and grandmother who has suffered from obesity all my life. Thanks to the help from Dr. Caruana and his knowledge of gastric bypass surgery, I am no longer obese.

	Over the past two years I have really changed to a different person. Before my surgery in May 2004, I weighed 324 pounds. I couldn’t walk without stopping or finding a place to rest. Besides my weight problem, I had a lot of medical problems too. I was taking 18 types of medicines and 10 units of insulin. But my biggest problem was depression because I never thought much of myself.
	Today I weigh 185 pounds and am down to much fewer medications and half the insulin. People see me in a totally different way now and they tell me how good I look. This has really helped my self esteem and I think that the surgery and recovery is not a bad thing. I am very pleased with Dr. Caruana’s work and would do it again.
