Sisters of Charity Hospital is a member of the Catholic Health System, one of the largest health care provider organizations in Western New York. Its long-standing tradition of superior care and medical excellence extends to the hospital’s bariatric surgical team whose members are committed to providing patients superior treatment. In partnership with the surgical program of Synergy Bariatrics, Sisters Hospital’s experience and achievement of the highest levels of efficacy, efficiency and safety, have earned them an ASBS Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence.

The Gastric Bypass Surgery Fund, a division of the Sisters Hospital Foundation charitable organization, was established in December 2002 by Dr. Joseph A. Caruana to provide support to obese patients receiving medical care at Sisters Hospital. Donations to this fund are used to purchase surgical and specialized equipment, and to provide education and resources for staff involved in the surgical procedure and post-surgical care of these patients.
