Revisional Bariatric Surgery
Revisional bariatric surgery encompasses conversion to another procedure following an of initial bariatric operations. Patients are not considered candidates for revisional bariatric surgery until they have exhausted all conservative attempts at weight loss without success.
Currently, we do not offer a revisional procedure for those patients who have already undergone gastric bypass. However , those patients who have had a gastric band or sleeve may be candidates.
Potential revision candidates are required to undergo evaluation by Ann Marie LiCausi, LCSW and Jennifer Turesky, MS, RDN, CDN, CDE to ensure there are no eating behaviors or habits contributing to the patientʼs inadequate weight loss or weight gain.
Revisional bariatric surgery has been shown to produce weight loss, as well as health changes like:
Improvement of type 2 diabetes
Lower blood pressure
Lower cholesterol levels
